How best to fight the war on terror (my opinion)

I have heard Rep. Ron Paul, Texas (R) speak several times on this issue, and what he says, I believe makes perfect sense.

In the Iowa debate when he said it was American policy that caused the attack on our country by Islamic radicals.

Rep. Paul believes if we pull our troops from the land and quit meddling where they, the Islamics, believe is holy ground, drill for oil in our own backyard, they will leave us alone. But I can't see that happening anytime soon.

I wonder at times if our government isn't trying to steal the oil from them. By the way, whatever happened to "The oil would pay for the war"?
